William (Will) passed peacefully. He was the youngest of 13 children born to an Italian immigrant bricklayer Francesco Lucia and Marina (Zungrone) from Maida, Calabria, Italy. Will grew up in South Philadelphia and dropped out of school at 17 to enlist in the US Navy, where he served as a seaman 1St Class in WWII in the South Pacific.
He married the love of his life in Grace (D'Angelo) in 1945 and started their family in Germantown. Forty year resident of Warminster. Will worked his life in textile mills in Philadelphia then in Hatboro as a Foreman. He retired and moved to North Wales. Spending his remaining few years at Revelle Senior Living community .
Will took great pride in his collection of miniature bottles, tending his garden and fruit trees and enjoyed making wine. Later in life spent his time doing jigsaw puzzles and sorting books at his community library. Going to casinos and playing scratch offs. He was an avid sports fan, never missing his Phillies and Eagles.
William is preceded in death by his beloved Grace and Daughter Janis Gallagher. Along with his parents, sisters, brothers and niece Debra Morrone, nephew Joseph Morrone.
He is survived by his sons Frank Lucia (Vicki), William, Jr (Cody). His granddaughter Theresa Halczak and grandson Thomas Gallagher. Two great-grandsons Christopher and Jason Halczak. Four step grandchildren, thirteen step great-grandchildren. And his great-great grandson Micah Halczak.
Relatives and friends may call 9:30 A.M. Friday March 28th at Mary Mother of The Redeemer Church 1325 Upper State Rd. North Wales where Will"s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
Will and Grace loved animals, both the pets they raised and their “grandpets”. The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, to make donations to Philadelphia’s Morris Animal Refuge; and can do so here by selecting "Tribute Donation.
