Obituary of Mary K. Cataldi

Mary K. Cataldi, age 89, passed away on March 11, 2025. She died peacefully at home in Horsham surrounded by family and friends. Mary is survived by multiple generations of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will be greatly missed not only by her family but also by her large extended family of friends and neighbors.

Mary graduated from Little Flower High School in 1954 and soon set out on her first career. She applied for her first job as a hairdresser at Cataldi's Beauty Salon in Philadelphia. Mary was immediately hired by the owner, Norman Cataldi.

Thirteen years later, Mary and Norman were married and spent 46 happy years together until Norman's passing in 2013.

When Mary and Norman moved to Horsham in 1981, Mary began her second career at AARP where she became an indispensable member of the customer service team. It was there that Mary forged lifelong friendships. The ladies of AARP enjoyed many brunches, lunches and holiday parties over the years, even after their retirement.

Mary looked forward to springtime each year as she tended her gardens into showplaces of beauty and color.

Cooking was another of Mary's passions. Her Sunday dinners were legendary. Family and friends came from far and wide for her meatballs and macaroni. If you called by three you got a seat at the table at six.

Mary lived her life with love, generosity and kindness - caring for everyone she met along the way.

A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Warrington, PA. Visitation will be at 10 am with a Memorial Mass at 11 am. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
