Barbara Allen Shaffer Haas (Barb), devoted wife to James Jay Haas for 67 years, passed away peacefully on May 14th at the age of 90. She was the beloved mother to Beth Ann (Stephen) and Jeffrey (Cathy); and “Yeomi” to Emily (Dylan), Jacob, Thomas (Mackenzie), Lucas, and Mark. She is also survived by her brother Ronnie (Cathy) along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barb was a proud member of the Hatboro community and loved her country. She was especially proud of her historic roots going back as far as the American Revolution with ancestors fighting during the Civil War. She was an enthusiastic advocate for preserving Loller Academy, a frequent visitor and supporter of the Hatboro Library, and an active member of Lehman Memorial Methodist Church where they could be seen in the pews for over 65 years. She was also a life-long Republican Party member and poll worker who never missed an election.
Barb loved to party. From Barb and Jim's Christmas open houses to events at the Old York Road Country Club she loved to mingle with a cocktail in hand; whether with her Windover Road Family, Golf Family, or her Family Family. She always looked forward to seeing and being with the people she loved and having a good time.
Of course, there is no Barb without Jim. They were never apart during their 67 years in marriage. They traveled the country together attempting to see all 50 state capitals and played a lot of golf on these trips too, a sport she took up just to be with Jim. They were inseparable. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, friends, and family who can take comfort knowing that she is reunited with Jim forever.
Barb's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM followed by her Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Lehman Memorial Methodist Church, 300 South York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. Interment is private.
