Rose Cary, known to her family and oldest friends as “Chickie”, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by her family.
Born on February 15, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, Rose grew up in West Philadelphia where she graduated from West Catholic Girls High School, Class of ’52 and later met the love of her life, John. Married in 1955, Rose and John spent several years living in Levittown, PA and Thousand Oaks, CA then finally settled in Warminster, PA where they raised their six children and watched the family bloom over the years with twelve grandchildren and then twelve great-grandchildren.
Rose was known for her love of cooking and serving her famous home cooked meals to friends and family at countless dinners and parties hosted at the Cary house. She was always on the go, even beyond her busy life as a mother, often working for herself as an entrepreneur before her time. Rose and John enjoyed the last of their retirement years together at Ann’s Choice Retirement Community and continued to pursue what was perhaps Rose’s greatest passion of travelling the world from the United States to most of Europe and even to the Far East with their many friends, on cruises and tours often planned and organized by Rose herself.
Rose is survived by her six children - John, Roseann, Frances, Michael, Mark and Patrick - along with their spouses, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy of love of family, laughter and making even the small moments in a life special along the way. Rose was preceded in death by her husband John, and her parents, Anthony and Helen.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, August 14th from 9:30 a.m. to
10:30 a.m. at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Parish, 625 West Street Road, Warminster, PA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 County Line Road, Lower Southampton Township, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ann’s Choice Benevolent Fund to continue supporting her final home, in gratitude for the care and dignity they lovingly gave her in her final years of life. Rose’s life was a testament to family values and the importance of a warm and loving home as the start and central part of a life well lived. She was a living example of how thousands of acts of love and celebrating life touch lives in positive ways that can never be counted. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
