Susan H. Hemler, 88, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Hemler, Sr., for 50 years. Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late George E. Hoffman and Mary (Hobensack) Hoffman. Susan was a graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School where she earned the title of State Champion as a Majorette and was extremely active in many of the school’s clubs. She then graduated from Bloomsburg State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education where she met the love of her life. Once her children were old enough, Susan returned to teaching as a substitute for the Hatboro-Horsham School District and then fulltime as a first and second grade teacher at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Horsham until her retirement. Susan adored the children she taught. Susan loved hosting gatherings with family and friends. Susan was a life-long resident of Hatboro, and her neighbors were her extended family. She enjoyed her summer vacations at Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Susan was also an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. She was a staunch republican and loved volunteering at the polls every year prior to Covid. She was the mother of Donald F. Jr. (Terri), Craig S. (Kathy), Michele M. Osbeck (Todd) and Deborah L. Hemler (Arthur). She is survived by seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and was preceded in death by one grandchild. Susan is also survived by her brother, Robert C. Hoffman. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Louis Swift Plunkett Funeral Home, 529 N. York Rd., Hatboro, PA. A Prayer service will immediately follow at Louis Swift Plunkett Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hatboro Cemetery.
