Michael “Mike” O’Donnell, 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving mother and siblings. For the past ten years, Mike faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease with remarkable courage and grace. Recently, he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke that required a craniectomy at Temple University Hospital. Despite the heroic efforts of the doctors and nurses in Temple’s Neurology ICU, he could not recover.
Born on August 24, 1962, Mike was the cherished son of Margaret O’Donnell and the late Patrick O’Donnell. He is survived by his mother, Margaret; his brother, Dennis O’Donnell (Trish); his sisters, Mary Malgieri (Gary) and Nancy Boyk (Bill); and his adored nieces and nephews: Kellsey Frank (Matt), Collin O’Donnell, Angela Malgieri-Novotny (Nick), Mandy Malgieri, Madison Boyk, and Willy Boyk (Maddie).
Mike will be remembered for his joyful spirit and youthful heart. He loved sharing stories of his Cedarbrook Road days and always lit up when reminiscing with family and friends. A devoted Jeopardy! fan, Mike rarely missed an episode and took pride in his quick recall and sharp wit. He was also a true automobile enthusiast, with an incredible knowledge of makes and models, and owned several unique cars himself. A loyal supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, Mike’s enthusiasm for his hometown teams never wavered.
Above all, Mike will be remembered for the joy he brought to others. He will be deeply missed, but his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace and free from pain.
