Joseph Robert "Joe" DiFilippo Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Joseph Robert DiFilippo announces his unexpected passing on Thursday, November 7, 2025, at the age of 64. His sudden loss has left his family and friends deeply saddened and shocked.

Joe was born on August 15, 1961, in Abington, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Denise (Farrell), and their beloved children: Shawn (Kylene), Kelly, Danielle (Ryan), and Nicole (Mike). “Pop” will forever be cherished and remembered by his adoring grandchildren — Collin, Claire, Kiera, Jensen, Jaxon, Michael, and Dominick, who brought him endless joy. He will also be missed by his faithful dog, Wentz. Joe was preceded in death by his sister, his parents, and his in-laws.

His memory lives on through his extended family — Thomas and Karen Farrell, and Deborah and Ray Hipple — and through his many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews who will always fondly remember their “Uncle Joe.”

A proud native of Abington and graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Joe went on to play semi-professional football with the Warminster Colts. He later dedicated much of his life to coaching youth and high school sports, including football, baseball, and softball. One of his proudest achievements was leading the 2011 Hatboro-Horsham girl softball team to a victory at the PIAA State Championship game.

Joe found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. Whether it was strolling the aisles of BJs or Wegmans with Denise (and filling the cart with unnecessary treats), relaxing by the pool, or enjoying sunny vacations in tropical destinations, he treasured every moment. Summers at the shore, meals at Graeme Park, and family gatherings were among his favorite times.

He loved golfing with Shawn, sitting poolside with Kelly, and coaching softball with Danielle. A die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, Joe could always be found cheering on his team every Sunday — surrounded by family, friends, and often a cold beverage (or two).

Joe adored being “Pop” to his grandchildren. He was their biggest cheerleader — from the sidelines of Collin’s soccer games, to the audience at Claire’s dance recitals, to coaching Kiera’s softball team, and spending precious time with Jensen and Jaxon in Florida. His playful spirit and love for life made him the heart of every family moment.

For more than 20 years, Joe owned and operated B&E Energy, where he was not just a boss but a friend and mentor. He took pride in his work, loved meeting people, and treated his employees like family. Always just a phone call away, Joe had a gift for helping others — day or night, no matter the need.

A proud member of the Old York Road Country Club, Joe was known for his charisma, humor, and infectious energy. He had the rare ability to make everyone feel seen and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Joe’s legacy is one of laughter, love, and living life to the fullest. His warmth, generosity, and boundless spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the medical professionals who worked tirelessly to care for Joe in his time of need.
