Maxine "Max" Muller Obituary

Maxine Muller (nee Younglove) was born in Olean, NY to Lloyd and Marian (nee Swarts) Younglove on September 17, 1926. After graduating from Olean High School, she was enrolled in the first class of women to attend St. Bonaventure College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She then earned an advanced degree in Elementary Education at Buffalo State Teacher’s College. Max knew she wanted to teach kindergarten from the time she was 5 years old and was thrilled when she was selected shortly after graduation by Greenwood Central School District to launch their new kindergarten program. She met her future husband, Bob Muller, at a roller-skating rink in 1960 and they were married in 1962. After many happy years of teaching in Greenwood, Maxine and Bob moved to the suburbs of Rochester, NY where they raised their children, John and Beth. Maxine remained in the Rochester area until moving to Ann’s Choice, Warminster PA, in 2024. She is predeceased by both of her parents and brother Alan, her husband of 50 years whom she referred to as “her Bob”, and her son John.

Max will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. Her warm, humorous, enthusiastic, easy-going personality made her a well-regarded educator, popular bowler, generous marshmallow frosting chef, devoted mother and grandmother, kind friend, and a lifelong animal lover. She is survived by her daughter Beth, her granddaughters Connor (Aaron) Rocco and Rowan (Stephen Doney) Klotzbach. Maxine will also be missed by Wayne Klotzbach, James Swarts, Jason Swarts, her friends at the Highlands of Pittsford and Ann’s Choice Rose Garden, as well as long-time friends in Pennsylvania, Rochester, NY and Greenwood, NY.

Burial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
