June Allene Starke, 88, a devoted mother, grandmother, and lifelong lover of orchids, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. Born in 1937, June was the oldest of three children born to William and Naomi Starke of Jarrettown, PA. 

June dedicated much of her life to the beauty and delicate art of orchid cultivation. For more than four decades she worked alongside her father and brother in their family-owned orchid business, where her keen eye for detail, gentle touch, and deep knowledge helped nurture thousands of exquisite blooms that brought joy to countless customers and flower enthusiasts.

Above all else, June treasured time spent with her family. She delighted in every family gathering, holiday celebration, and quiet moment shared with those she loved most. Her home was always open, her table always ready, and her arms always ready for a hug. 

June is survived by her four children: Scott H. Hinkson and his wife Annette, Gregory S. Hinkson and his wife Donna, C. Paige Hinkson and her husband Craig DeLuca, and A. Brooke Hinkson and her husband Kurt Bianculli; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Sonia and her husband Kyle McCrossen, Ryan, Emma, Andrew and Jacqueline. June is also survived by her sister Carol Bracher and her husband Fred, brother Barry Starke and his wife Mimi, and additional extended family members who were all touched by her warmth and generosity.

June’s legacy lives on in the vibrant orchids that still bloom in greenhouses across the region and through the love she poured into her family. A private celebration of June’s life will be held. June will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always carried in the hearts of those whose lives she so beautifully touched.
