Obituary of Cecelia Conly Young
Cecelia 'Ceil' Conly Young of Hatboro died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017.
Ceil was born in Hatboro on Dec. 9, 1930 to James A. and Kathryn (Gilligan) McPeak. She was preceded in death by her beloved older brother, James H. McPeak. She graduated from Hatboro High School in 1948.
On June 10, 1953, Ceil married L. Gilbert 'Gil' Conly and together they had five children. In 1963, they founded Yum Yum Donuts on York Road in Warminster. Over the years, the business grew and it is now known as Yum Yum Bake Shops with locations in Warminster, Colmar and Quakertown. Yum Yum has stayed in the family and is now being run by second and third generation Conly's.
After Gil died in 1986, Ceil married Joseph A. Young in 1991 and enjoyed many happy years with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Ceil is survived by her children, Debra (Gary De Palo), Glenn, Bruce (Donna), David and Penny Ellison (John), ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She also is survived by her brother, Joseph C. McPeak (Pam).
Relatives and friends may greet the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Louis Swift Plunkett Funeral Home, 529 North York Road, Hatboro. Her memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen. There will be no morning viewing. Interment will be held privately.
