Obituary of Joan M. Allen

Joan M (Delaney) Allen of Chalfont died peacefully December 17, 2017 surrounded by her family at Pine Run Health Center. She was 87.
She was the daughter of the late John and Helen Delaney and preceded in death by her devoted husband David of 59 years and her sister Rita (Delaney) Hutchins. She is survived by her eight children, David, Jr (Barbara Hayes); Gregory (Susan), Deborah Gatlin (Elmo), Donna Moorhead (Michael), Dennis (Susan), Pamela Matt (Michael), Theresa DiGrazio (Christopher), John (Gail Gilbert), twenty three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving sister Elizabeth (Delaney) LaVecchia and her brother William Delaney.
Joan was born in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Little Flower High School for Girls. Joan spent her life raising her 8 children and later in life worked for Prudential Insurance. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining, card playing, and bird watching. She loved being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call Friday 8:30  to 9:45 A.M. at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA 18914. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M.

Internment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made in Joan’s name to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140
