Obituary of Elizabeth T. Wolgast
Wolgast, Elizabeth (Betty) (née Fox) of Hatboro, formerly from the Swampoodle section of Philadelphia, on March 22, 2018. Predeceased in death by beloved husband of 63 years, Joseph. Mother of Mary Zaccardo (Thomas), Elizabeth Josten (Harry), Joseph (Joanne), Catherine Janos (Joseph), John (Catherine), and Patricia Mahoney (William), aunt of William Gordon (Catherine). Blessed with 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her sister Teresa (Harry). While a faithful parishioner of St. John Bosco Church for 56 years, Elizabeth established the St. John Bosco Blood Bank for the American Red Cross in the 1970s which she and her husband were dedicated to for 30 years, and still remains active today. Served as President of the Women’s Guild, and helped coordinate numerous church activities; carnivals, night at the races, and Christmas bazaar. Spent 25 years employed at Yarrington Mills, a job that brought her much happiness. Elizabeth survived breast cancer in 1985. She was blessed to have helpful neighbors who offered her tremendous support right up to the end, and two faithful caregivers along with support from Abington Hospice. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, 5:30-7:30pm and Monday, 8:30-9:30am, at Louis Swift Plunkett Funeral Home, 529 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040 followed by 10am mass Monday at St. John Bosco Church, 215 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. Interment at Hatboro Cemetery, 36 Fulmor Avenue, Hatboro, PA 19040. In lieu of flowers, donations may go to Abington Hospice, 225 Newtown Road, Warminster, PA 18974.
