Rita Rothenbach

Obituary of Rita A. Rothenbach

Rita Ann Rothenbach, 74, of Hatboro died peacefully on Easter Sunday evening. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia to Peter J. and Margaret A. Coyle. For 52 years, she was the beloved wife of William E. Rothenbach. Together, they raised 4 children: Peggy (Joe), Thomas (Shelley), William (Therese),  and Eileen (Bill). The Rothenbachs were members of Somerton Swim Club for many years. There, they became involved in swimming, which would dominate the landscape of Rita’s life for many years. Rita was an organizational wonder and devoted much of her energy to running the parent associations of her childrens’ sports teams. She was well-travelled as a swimming cheerleader through their high school and college careers. In her later years, Rita and her loving husband enjoyed time adoring their beautiful grandchildren and fishing at the shore. Many of her happiest memories were spent with the entire family at the Jersey shore. She will be remembered not only for her humor and fun-loving nature, but also for her incredible strength and determination. Rita is survived by her husband, children and 15 grandchildren: Hayley, Emily, Jacob, Madelyn, Sarah, Julia, Sam, Brenton, Luke, Liam, Ben, Daniel, Kate, Owen, and Corinne. Relatives and frienda may greet the family Friday 9:30 A.M. at St. John Bosco Church 235 E. Countyline Rd. Hatboro. Memorial Mass 10:45 A.M.
