Obituary of Ernest William Patten Jr.

Ernest William Patten Jr. of Warminster passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at his residence with his loving family at his side. He was 71. Born in Summit, N.J., he was the son of the late Ernest and Marjorie (Pease) Patten. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nancy I. Patten. Ernest served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1965 through 1967. He retired from his lifelong career as a CPA with Ski Ball Amusement Games in 2014. Mr. Patten was a member of Lulu Temple Country where he volunteered much of his time and services. He was an avid golfer and club champion several times over. With a passion and love for the beach, Ernest spent most of his free time vacationing with his family in Long Beach Island and Sea isle City, N.J. Mr. Patten's greatest joy in life, was his grandchildren. He made a hobby of planning, decorating and celebrating all holidays and special occasions with his family. Ernest is survived by his devoted children, Joseph Sands (Michelle), Mark Patten (Katie), Cynthia Lommock (Joel), Brenda Levitan, Susan Wildeboer (Ray), and Stephanie Williams (Dan). He was the loving grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of three. Mr. Patten is also survived by his three sisters, Nancy Kenyon, Janet Bondi, and Joan Brush. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Louis Swift Plunkett Funeral Home, 529 N. York Road, Hatboro. Interment will immediately follow in the Hatboro Cemetery.
