Obituary of Steven A. Hockenbury

Steven A. Hockenbury, a long-time resident of Warminster, PA passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021. He was 62. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Lewis Hockenbury and Isabel (Vitale) Jones. He was a graduate of George Washington High School. Soon after graduation Steve moved to California where he lived for 6 years. Upon his return he met his bride of 35 years, Diedre (Shortall) Hockenbury and they went on to raise three beautiful children. Steve was an electrical contractor by trade and started his career with Harrington Electric and ended his career with Granahan Electrical Contractors Inc. after 25 years of service. He was a dedicated employee who rarely took a day off from work. Steve was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved to come home from work, crack a beer, turn on the tunes, and read the sports section of the Daily News. Not long after, you would find him working on some kind of project around the house or cooking on the grill. He was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams, but the Eagles held a special place in his heart. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diedre Hockenbury, his three children Edward, Steven (Kelly), and Brianna Hockenbury, his grandchildren Brayden Peet and Olivia Hockenbury, his mother Isabel Jones, his siblings Donna Ryan, Karen Fahnestock (Glenn), Linda Heiser (Tom), Kenneth Hockenbury (Kathy), who predeceased him, and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family, Friday, April 9, 2021 at Nativity of Our Lord Church 625 W. Street Rd. Warminster,from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
