Obituary of Phyllis J. Croke
Phyllis J. Croke, 87, of Warminster, Pennsylvania passed away on April 27, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio she grew up in Abington, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of John and Dorothy Smerke.
A graduate of Abington High School she was awarded a full scholarship to Beaver College and earned a degree in Elementary Education. She was a creative elementary school teacher for 26 years in the Central Bucks School District, predominantly at John Barclay Elementary School in Warrington.
Phyllis is best remembered for her generosity, loyalty to family and friends, and her positive attitude through physical difficulties.
She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Donald J. Croke and her brother Thomas Smerke. She is survived by her children Phyllis (Jim) Huettner, Joanne (Bill) Tompkins, and Donald J. Croke, Jr. (Barbara); her grandchildren Helen Huettner, Will Tompkins, Ben Tompkins, Vicky Croke, Heather (Dave) Belser, and Tim Croke; her siblings John J. Smerke, Jr. and Barbara Endres, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her many kind and loving friends at Ann’s Choice who looked out for her, as well as Bart Faherty and her Jefferson Health Home Care Team for outstanding and compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday May 5, 2021. Viewing at 9 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11 am at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church 625 West Street Road, Warminster, Pennsylvania 18974. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery 3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, Pennsylvania 18914.
