Obituary of Joan Daniels Cummings

Joan (nee McDonagh) Daniels Cummings, 71, of Warminster, PA, passed away on June 2, 2021, in Abington, PA. Joan was born in Philadelphia to Mary and Martin McDonagh on October 30, 1949. After graduating from Archbishop Wood High School in 1967, Joan went on to earn a degree from Gwynedd Mercy College. Joan was a faith-filled, lifelong educator, teaching countless students first at Saint Joseph Catholic School and for many years thereafter at Nativity of Our Lord School. Joan was also an active parishner at Saint John Bosco Church, where she served as a lector. In her retirement Joan enjoyed spending time with her husband, Fred, her children, her grandchildren, her sisters, and her many family members and friends. Joan is survived by her husband Fred Cummings of Warminster, PA, along with her stepchildren Rick Cummings, Damon Cummings, and Mary Cummings of Philadelphia, PA, and her grandchildren Gabrela and Nathan Cummings of Telford, PA; her sister Dorothy Waddington of North Whales, PA, along with her husband Jim and their family; the McNamee Family of Philadelphia, PA; the McDonough Family of Jamison, PA; her brother Jim McDonough of Naples, FL, along with his wife Carol and their family; her sister Eileen Simmons of Willow Grove, PA, along with her family; her son William Daniels of Kinnelon, NJ, and his wife, Sheri, and their children Kelsie, Tyler, and Baylie; her daughter Eileen Dowling of Quakertown, PA, and her husband, Jim, and their children Colin, Kyle, and Ali; her daughter Denise Weiss of Nehalem, OR, and her husband, Jason, and their children R. Jonas and Raya; her son Michael Daniels of San Francisco, CA, and his wife Brigid, and their children Jermiah, Izra, and Miriam; and other loved ones. Joan will be joining in heaven her father Martin, her mother Mary, her brother Martin, her sister Marian, and her first husband Al Daniels. Joan touched many hearts as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher. She will be missed and will be forever in our hearts. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday June 9th at 9:00 A.M. at Nativity of Our Lord Church 625 W. Street Rd. Warminster. Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. followed by interment at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
