Obituary of Stephen M. Cassidy Jr.

Stephen Michael Cassidy born on September 25, 1954 passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Friday November 26, 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve’s life was one filled with unparalleled joy and beauty. He was born of Steve and Rita Cassidy in Philadelphia the second of five children, Brian (Jane) Tom – deceased, Maureen and Marty (Maria). Steve leaves behind his children, Jim (Ilka) Stephen (Jessica) Meghan (Andy) Nora (Padraig) and Patrick, fifteen grandchildren, and the love of his life and wife of 47 years Peggy Cassidy. Steve worked for his father and took over Cassidy Printing before starting Phoenix Printing. He then turned to real estate development. Steve was a hard worker, a visionary, and a loyal, dedicated, determined, and loving husband and father. He coached his son’s baseball teams at Northampton Township for over twenty years, touching so many lives. Steve’s primary passion was music, his knowledge of American roots music inspired a generation. He was responsible for many a youngsters first Grateful Dead show. His innocence and passion inspired so many to live in the light of love and joy inspired by music and family. All of his children received their sacraments at St. Vincent DePaul church, were he and his wife regularly attended mass for over 40 years. There is no need to lament the loss of Stephen’s life as he left every person with a lifetime of memories. Steve was a light, a beacon of hope for so many people. The love story between he and his high school sweetheart Peg will continue to inspire so many people to follow the path of true love. He leaves the world a brighter place, filled with song and prayer, and so many people to continue his legacy of peace, love and joy. For those that would like to pay their respects there will be a greeting at St. Vincent de Paul from 10-12 followed by his Memorial Mass on Friday, December 17th. A reception at Spring Mill Country Club will follow. Interment is private. “Fare thee well, fare thee well I love you more than words can tell.
