Obituary of Henry F. Schmid
Henry Fredrick Schmid, age 100, passed away on June 10, 2023, at Abington Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1923, in Philadelphia, PA. Henry proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician Mate First Class during World War 2. He was stationed in Kaneohe Bay on Oahu for four years and served for over 12 years.
Henry worked for Leeds and Northrop, a division of General Signal, for over 47 years. He was a man of many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed bowling, deep-sea fishing, chess, card games, big band music, gardening, woodworking, and building things. He was a skilled handyman who could fix anything. Henry was also an usher at Nativity of Our Lord Church for over 57 years. He loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies and going to the gym almost every day after he retired. He was married to his loving wife Loretta for over 68 wonderful years, and they enjoyed shopping together.
Henry was survived by his two daughters, Loretta Sandy (Charlie) and Donna Beyrer (Kenny), three grandchildren, Denise Stevens (Bill), Jessica Adams (Jim), and Noel Beyrer, and four great-grandchildren, Kaelei and Tyler Adams and Alexis and Michael Stevens. He will also be missed by his granddog Reesie.
Visitation for Henry will be held on Thursday June 15, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Nativity of Our Lord Church 625 W. Street Rd. Warminster, Pa 18874 His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am. Interment is private.
