Delores Garrett-Bowen was born on July 8, 1939 in Bedford County, Virginia the only daughter of Duval Kyle and Rosetta Allen. Delores and her mother Rosetta moved to Philadelphia in the early 1950s.

Delores was educated in the Philadelphia school system graduating from Germantown High in 1957.

In 1958 Delores married Joseph Garrett Sr., From this union she had three children, Joseph Jr., Darrell, and Belinda.

Delores began her working career at the Internal Revenue Service in 1965 where she worked for 30 yrs. until her retirement.

On December 31, 1991, Delores married her second husband John H. Bowen.John was a member of the Legionnaires and served as Eastern Vice Commander for a number of years, because of that affiliation Delores became the Treasurer and President of the ladies auxiliary group “ The Fems”

. Delores was preceded in death by her Mother Rosetta, her Father Duval, her Aunt Virginia, and Grand Mother Kizzie. Sorrowfully on Saturday, May 18, 2024 God called Delores home to take her deserving rest. Thank God for her Gift of love.

Delores is survived by her devoted children, Joseph Jr., Darrell, and Belinda. Her Daughter In-Law Stacy, And her Grandchildren Darrell Jr. and Kelli; and assorted nieces nephews; great-nieces and nephews; cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Relatives and friends may greet the family 9:30 A.M. Wednesday May 29th at St. John Bosco Church 235 E. Countyline Rd., Hatboro where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Willow Grove.
