Obituary of Marguerite Ann McKay
The family of Marguerite Ann (Dugan) McKay of Hatboro is sad to announce that she passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
Peg was born on November 17, 1954 at the Fitzgerald-Mercy Hospital in Philadelphia. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph P. Dugan, Sr. and Marie D. (Boyce) Dugan. She was a proud 1973 graduate of St. Hubert’s High School for Girls. After graduation, Peg went to work at the Bell Telephone Company as a Directory Assistance Operator. She continued in various positions, even as it transitioned to Verizon, until she retired in 2004.
In 1990, Peg married the love of her life, David McKay. Devout Catholics, they reaffirmed their commitment to one another by having their marriage blessed at St. Joseph’s Church in 1997. Over the years, they enjoyed vacations at their timeshare, as well as spending time with family and friends. They also loved the Christmas holidays. This was evident in the annual display in their front yard which included numerous figures that lit up, delighting their neighbors as well as passers-by.
Peg’s family would like to express their appreciation to her friends from St. Dominic’s and St. Hubert’s for their visits which lifted her spirits; to her caregiver, Cecelia Freeman for her constant help; and to her neighbors for the support they have provided over the years.
Peg is survived by her husband, David, her sister Dolores Hodgkiss (Warren) and brother, Joseph.
Services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024. Relatives and friends are invited to a Viewing at St. Joseph’s Church, 1795 Columbia Avenue, Warrington, PA from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peg’s memory may be sent to her parish, St. Joseph’s Church at the address above.
