Obituary of John Joseph Brady

John grew up in St. Edward’s parish and attended North Catholic High School. He then enlisted in the Army where he served for four years as a Dental Assistant. Following his service, John enrolled at Temple University and earned a degree in Political Science. John was hardworking, retiring at the age of 74. A devoted husband, John and his wife, Susan, had recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. He was also a proud dad and Pop-Pop. He was an avid Eagles fan and a former coach at Liberty Bell Youth Organization for many years. Football was one of John’s lifelong passions and he could usually be found watching sports and reading the newspaper. 

John is survived by his wife, Susan (nee Metz), his daughter Stephanie Witte (Ryan), his grandson Nolan and his sister Maureen Groome (Ed). He is predeceased by his parents John Brady, John and Winifred Cannon and his brother Dennis. 

John will be remembered for his humor and kindness, bringing a smile to all those around him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 9:30 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Saint Christopher’s Parish Church, 13301 Proctor Road Philadelphia, Pa 19116. Internment will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road Newtown, Pa 18940 at 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
