Obituary of Walter James Wiesenhutter

Walter James Wiesenhutter, 79, of Chestnut Hill, formerly
of Hatboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 11,
2024, at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia.
He was born Jan. 13, 1945, the son of Walter and
Margaret (Whelan) Wiesenhutter, in Philadelphia. He
attended St. Joseph’s Preparatory School and St.
Joseph’s University, earning a degree in Food Marketing
in 1966. Shortly after graduating, Walt married Anne
Flood and they settled in Hatboro, where they raised their
two children. Anne and Walt were married for 47 years
before her death in 2013.
Walt was an active member of St. John Bosco Parish in
Hatboro.

Walt spent his professional career in Sales and
Consulting, first for Dow Jones-Irwin and later starting his
own consulting business, Jay Associates. He also taught
business courses at both Bucks County Community
College and Delaware Valley Community College.

Walt enjoyed playing golf, watching the Phillies and
spending summers down the shore in Sea Isle City. He
and Anne owned Sea Isle Variety for several years and
were active in the Yacht Club of Sea Isle where Walt was
the Commodore 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife
Anne.

Walt is survived by his daughter Judith (Michael) Morsch
of North Wales; James Wiesenhutter and wife Susan
Nanes of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Kaitlin Hughes
of Los Angeles, Kevin Hughes of Philadelphia, and
Timothy Wiesenhutter of Jenkintown, PA; and a sister,
Peggy Tanzola, of Drexel Hill, PA.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, followed by a
Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Our Mother of Consolation Church, 9 E.
Chestnut Hill Ave, Chestnut Hill, PA, 19118. Cremation
rites were afforded. Burial will be at St. John Neumann
Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.

Memorial contributions in his name can be made to St.
Joseph’s Preparatory School, Philadelphia.
