Such sad news, my thoughts and prayers for the family.
A personal note: I first met Yana at Archbishop Wood at the beginning of senior year. We were going to have a joint student council meeting with the girl’s school. Yana walked in and BOOM! That was it for me, I was a goner, head over heels in love, in a way only 16 year olds can feel.
When I heard the sad news I couldn’t help but think back to those days. Selfishly, and sadly, I realized I’m no longer young and I’ll never feel the way I felt then. But, thanks to Yana, I felt it once. And that is enough.
Rest in peace Yana and thanks.
